A New Partnership Brings Paisley’s Darker Stories to Light

When daylight fades, the streets of Paisley take on a different character — the echoes of industry, superstition and survival still lingering in the air.

This November, those stories return to the surface through a new collaboration between Paisley Tours and Paisley Darkside Historical Walking Tours.

Together, we’re launching a brand-new evening experience:

Paisley After Dark: The Darkside Tour – a 90-minute guided walk through the town’s atmospheric lanes and landmarks, uncovering the real events and human stories that shaped Paisley’s past.

A Shared Passion for Storytelling

Paisley Tours and Paisley Darkside share the same goal — to bring local history to life through authentic storytelling.

This partnership combines our resources, research and community reach with the distinctive voice of Darkside’s creator and guide, David, whose knowledge and passion for the town’s history have inspired audiences for years.

The result is an experience that balances mood and meaning: a walk through the shadows, told with warmth, depth and historical accuracy.

What Makes It Different

This is not a ghost walk or a fright night.

The Darkside Tour is grounded in real history — the darker side of daily life in Paisley. Guests will explore tales of superstition and faith, crime and punishment, loss and resilience. Each stop along the route reveals a true story, drawn from archives, newspapers and local memory.

Guided by lantern light, visitors see the town in a new way — its cobbled streets and old stone buildings transformed by atmosphere and storytelling.

Launch Night: Thursday 27 November

The very first Darkside Tour departs from Paisley Tours, 2 County Place, at dusk on Thursday 27 November.

Tours last 90 minutes, cost £20 per person, and will run on Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the winter season.
